Saturday Night Live, episode six

Truthfully I was hesitant to even watch this because the idea of joking about and normalizing an actual Trump presidency makes me sick but I decided to give it a try. It was Chappelle’s first time hosting so that was bound to be interesting.

Cold open: Poignant and perfect.

Monologue: This was pretty great. It was more like traditional stand-up than the other hosts have done this season and that was a good thing.

Election results: Chappelle was funny and I liked the cameo by Chris Rock a lot.

Walking Dead: This was funny. It was great to see a lot of the Chappelle show characters get some air time.

First song: A Tribe Called Quest. That’s it. That’s all that needs to be said.

Weekend Update: As far as I’m concerned, nothing beats Update especially this season. They are on point with the election coverage and their back and forth is great.

Inside SNL: I’m glad that they don’t seem to be taking themselves too seriously but it just kind of fell flat.

Kids Talk Politics: Even SNL is telling America to step up their game.

Donnellys: I don’t even know what I watched but I laughed at it so good job?

Second song: See first song.

Leslie/Kyle: Poor Kyle.

Football game: Leslie, Pete and Kenan were all breaking at one point. This was so bizarre and kind of gross but funny.

Saturday Night Live is new next week with host Kristen Wiig and musical guest The XX.
