Timeless, episode seven

March 1919 in New York. The movement to get women the right to vote is in full swing. Marchers run into police brutality. Present day Jiya is trying to talk to Rufus about her visions. He’s trying to laugh off her seriousness and it leads to a fight. Lucy is still in Flynn’s room the next morning and does an awkward walk of shame and Wyatt sees. He tells Flynn to back off Lucy but Flynn reminds him that Lucy can make her own decisions.

Emma and Nicholas talk about the next mission. He calls her important and mentions that he wants her to stay safe and come back to him. He shows her a file but tells her to stay on the ship. The mothership heads to 1919 and they have to give chase. Lucy assumes it is to stop Woodrow Wilson from heading to Paris.

Wyatt tries to keep Flynn from boarding but Christopher doesn’t let him. Just as they arrive, a gunshot rings out. They find out a suffragette was arrested for killing a senator. That’s what Rittenhouse is up to. Lucy and Wyatt will free her from jail while Rufus and Flynn look for the sleeper agent.

Rufus realizes that Jiya’s vision didn’t have him dying in 1919 so he’s ready to get to it. The cops aren’t helpful but Lucy runs to an investigator Grace Humiston for help. She’s willing to do so but she’s not a fan of the suffrage which annoys Lucy. While she works her magic, Wyatt runs his mouth about Lucy “rebounding” with Flynn. Rufus and Flynn head to the crime scene. While they are snooping, a cop comes in and yells at them.

During the argument, Emma comes in and shoots the cop. She doesn’t want Rittenhouse to get away with this mission. She also knows that there is a side mission to kill Lucy. She’s willing to work with them but on her terms. Jessica offers to help Mason with his work. She has nothing else happening anyway. Grace does more investigating. She finds the bellhop that got paid off. When they get back to the jail, the suffragette is dead.

They go to tell her followers and they don’t know what to do. After much debate they decide to have a silent protest. Rufus and Flynn keep pestering Emma because they don’t buy her rationale. She admits that she was abused by her drunk father as a child but that her mom took and left him. That wouldn’t be possible without the vote. Flynn gives her a gun. Lucy and Grace keep fighting about the movement until finally others chime in. Lucy will give the speech. Wyatt doesn’t think she should and she yells at him about Jessica.

The march starts and Emma is looking for the sleeper. Rufus and Flynn catch up with Wyatt and tell him what they know. Lucy gets pulled aside and taken by the sleeper but Emma comes to the rescue. They head back to the march and things are getting ugly. Mason and Jiya are still tinkering. He made something, even though he didn’t think he’d be able to. Lucy can’t give the speech but Grace does.

After one more conversation with Grace, they head back to the present. Jessica welcomes Wyatt back with open arms. Nicholas is not happy about the failed mission but tells her that her safety is all that matters before kissing her. Mason has manages to decrypt some Rittenhouse files and reveals a picture… of Jessica. He and Christopher don’t know what it means but decide to keep it quiet.

Jiya patches Rufus up and they talk about not knowing what to do about the visions. They are on the same page and are happier because of it. Lucy is upset that the suffragette didn’t get the credit she deserved. She and Wyatt talk about their relationship, or lack thereof. She is not going to get in the way. They are still going to kick ass though.

I feel bad for Lucy but I think the bigger story here is Emma. She is absolutely manipulating Nicholas right? She showed in 1919 that she won’t let some man make all the decisions. She’s playing the long game. I’m here for Lucy and Flynn solely because Wyatt is starting to annoy the crap out of me. You can’t have your cake and eat it too bro.

Westworld, episode two

Dolores wakes up and thinks that she’s in a dream. Bernard tells her that’s not the case. She’s in their world which she finds fascinating. Ford comes in and talks to Bernard. He wants Dolores for some sort of event but Bernard is adamant that she’s not ready. He’s not Bernard though. Ford calls him Arnold. This is the very beginning. Ford leaves so Bernard/Arnold takes Dolores on an adventure to see the house he is building for his family.

It’s still a work in progress. He talks about his family, especially his son. Dolores would like to meet his son and Arnold/Bernard tells her that she and his son are a lot alike in their world views. She’s happy to hear that and then reboots to when she first woke up. They have to get to the party but she makes him promise bring her back.

It’s the night of the incident. Folks in the lab are working. A guest runs in and tells them the news. The hosts are rebelling. They hear commotion. The doors bust open. It’s Dolores showing Teddy the way the world really works. Dolores corners the guest and he tells her that she doesn’t know what she’s up against. She tells him that she does. She’s been there before. Logan and William are out for drinks with some business associates.

William is bored and takes off early. Logan has no such issues. He meets with someone to talk about the future of tech and the VR experience. They lead him to a private demonstration where Dolores is playing the piano. Logan looks around trying to pick out the robots but he can’t. He thinks it is the woman that brought him to the party but as the song winds down everyone freezes. There are only three humans in the room. Welcome to Westworld. He freaks out because he doesn’t think it’s possible.

It is though. Teddy is in shock and doesn’t understand what he is seeing. Dolores makes the tech show him his history. Teddy doesn’t take it well. Still in the park Lawrence is roped up by his feet and on the verge of being fed to some ants when the Man in Black rolls up. He saves Lawrence and takes down the other goons. They head to a tavern and the Man in Black lays the whole thing out for him. The whole operation is going under and will take them with it.

Now it’s time to show what they are made of. They’ve kept tabs on who did what in the parks and now they’ll have to escape. It’s a three day ride to the edge of the park. That’s where they will head. Dolores is torturing a security guard for strategy information. She gets it and consults with Teddy. They will need backup so she has a tech start to wake up

Dolores leaves the shop and runs into Teddy on the street in town. It’s just like the experience has always been. Freeze. James Delos takes a look around but he isn’t sold on Westworld as a business. Enter William. He explains that this is the way of the future and that people will eat it up because they consider it true freedom. It’s not though because the company will still track them.

While on the move, Dolores and her team come upon a burning campsite. They run into Maeve and Hector. The women argue about revenge and freedom before the two groups continue on their separate journeys. Dolores’ team brings their recently revived militia man crash Major Craddock’s dinner party. She wants to parley and join forces but Craddock has no use for her. He tells her as much so she teaches his ranks a lesson by killing them all and then having the tech revive them.

She tells him that he needs to listen to her and now he seems inclined to do so. Dolores is in the real world again. She’s playing the piano at a party and sees William across the room. She doesn’t seem happy to see him. He starts toward her but James steps in the way. It’s his retirement party. He also has some sort of illness so his time is limited. After playing, Dolores steps outside to see the city lights.

Also outside is Logan. He tells her that this is really a party for the end of their species. They just don’t know it yet and the funniest part, he tells her, is that they lit the match. Lawrence and the Man in Black are on their mission and they run into Akecheta and talk about revolutions. The Man in Black tries to persuade him to help but Akecheta isn’t interested. He says as much and all his men shoot themselves. He says “You are on your own William” before shooting himself too.

The Man in Black is pissed at Ford for that. He tells Lawrence that he built the whole park and they have to the worst place he built with no help. William brings Dolores back online. He tells her that she is just a thing, a reflection, and that’s why he fell in love with her. Everyone wants that so he will use her and her kind to give it to them. He shows her the park and calls it full of splendor. Craddock and Dolores ride up to the base.

Teddy points out that it might not go over well but she is ready. Be it called glory or the valley beyond or something else they are all headed to the same place and she knows how to fight because she knows about a weapon. An old friend told her about it a long time ago.

I feel like most of season one we were supposed to hate Logan because he was an awful human. Now we see how he got that way. William was really the awful one and I’m really confused as to where his parts of season one fall into the overall timeline. I would’ve liked more of Maeve but the background between William and Dolores is fascinating. They kept bringing her out like a party trick. Logan saw the trouble there.

Designated Survivor, episode nineteen

Kendra explains how the 25th amendment hearing will play out. It’ll be an uphill battle but she has confidence that they can pull this off. Hannah is on a mission she wants to storm the Oval to tell Kirkman about Frost. Aaron explains to her that it’s not that simple and sends her home to shower and collect her thoughts. Seth has some budget talking points he needs answers on. Emily and Lyor do that. Lyor wants to push this out soon because of the media.

Louden is on the stand and Ethan is going hard. Kendra tries her best to change the story and provide context. The same can be said for Aaron’s testimony. Back in the office, Hannah is ready to go to Kirkman. Chuck tries to tell her that she is rushing things but she doesn’t listen. He also tries to offer his condolences for Damian but Hannah leaves. She meets with Aaron and Kirkman and accuses Frost. Kirkman doesn’t buy it.

When Hannah leaves he tells Aaron as much and says they need evidence. Ethan talks to Trey in the canteen while waiting for Kendra. Kirkman, Emily and Lyor meet with some congressmen about the budget. They are rolling back on their deal and Kirkman is ready to shut down the government to get back on track. Then he talks to his friend Dax about Frost.

Speaking of, she takes the stand. She talks about a private conversation between herself and Kirkman. Kendra sees it as her undermining Kirkman and wants to go after Frost. Kirkman tells her no. With no other options, Hannah goes after Ethan and he reveals that it wasn’t Frost that told him about the conversation but an anonymous letter. Hannah doesn’t believe it and goes after Frost. She denies it and threatens to press charges against Hannah.

Next on the stand is Emily. She doesn’t handle it well. Aaron goes to yell at Hannah for making him look bad. After he goes back to his office, Emily stops by. They talk about the hearings and about their kiss last year. She seems interested in a repeat and he shuts it down. Ethan meets with Moss. He invites him to testify. He says that Kirkman is not fit to be president. Kendra goes back at him but the damage is done.

Kirkman and the team regroup afterward. Lyor points out that if Kirkman is out of office Moss’ legal troubles are over. He also wants Kirkman to sign the budget deal. Kirkman won’t do it. Lyor is not happy. This could be his last act as president, shutting down the government. Kirkman relents and calls for a meeting. Kendra’s phone rings. Ethan wants a sitdown. He’s trying to give Kirkman a chance to duck out. Kirkman thinks Ethan is worried about loss.

Ethan tells them that he tried to warn them. Next on the stand is Trey. He talks about the family’s history of mental illness. Afterward, Kirkman and Trey talk about getting closer and going on a trip when this is all over. Next step is an ultimatum for congressional leadership about the deal on the budget. Then he gets a turn on the stand where he gives a rousing patriotic speech about being human.

Later that night Kirkman is in the Oval when Darby stops by it is with word that he will stay on as president. They decided because of who he is. He runs into Ethan next and they talk about being different. Then he heads back to the Oval and meets with Hannah. Her dedication to the country is admirable but she was insubordinate and out of line confronting Frost. He fires her.

So it was Trey right? It had to be. He definitely gave Ethan the tip too. I’m convinced he is the bad guy and I feel bad for Kirkman when that comes to light. Hannah is so set on Frost she needs to see the bigger picture. Also this needed more Seth. Why wasn’t he called in to testify?

Chicago Fire, episode twenty

Otis is at the doctor. It’s good news though. He’s cleared. At the next shift, Boden and Casey welcome him back on 81. After the meeting Boden goes back to his office to find Grissom waiting for him. He’s there to tell him that he won’t be retiring after all so Boden won’t be getting a promotion. The alarm sounds for squad. There’s an accident with a cement truck. One of the bystanders tells Severide that the truck swerved to avoid a woman.

He and Boden run around the front of the truck to find a woman stuck in the concrete. The dig her out and manage to clean her airway. The visit from Grissom was a wakeup call. Back at the house, Kidd doesn’t mince words. She wants to keep driving truck. Otis thinks it’s a joke but she’s serious. Casey is willing to test them both to see who the best option is. Dawson is more concerned about something else. She got a message from Bria.

Naturally she assumes the worse so Casey tells her to calm down until she knows more. Connie gives Boden a box he had in storage. He looks through it and reminisces. Dawson is fretting and leaving Bria messages when her father shows up. Turns out it’s a girl problem and Dawson is all set to help. Otis and Kidd are trash talking each other. Herrmann and Mouch butt in but Kidd goes at them too. Otis tells them to stand down. He’s game for the competition.

Cruz got a Facebook message from an old flame. Now he’s got plans to meet up with her. The rest of squad points out its a bad idea. Brett sees the whole thing and seems concerned. Then ambo gets a call and they end up at a barber shop where the barber cut off a customer’s ear. As shift ends, Boden asks Severide to run an errand with him while Casey and Dawson talk about weekend plans. He wants to go to a block party but they have Bria plans.

As a matter of fact, they head over to see her. The weekend plan is to help Bria get ready for the prom. She doesn’t have a mom to help but Dawson is more than happy to do it. At Molly’s, Hermann tells Otis and Kidd that he got a call from Casey and that he will be able to endorse a driver. He puts them to work. Boden wants to do something that’ll make him happy. He wants to buy a boat. Cruz meets him old girlfriend. She’s married… but still thinks of him.

Dawson wants to make the night special for Bria so she asks Herrmann about a limo. He’s no help. Boden gets a package by messenger. No marking on it and it’s full of cash. Severide got one too. The call down to HQ and end up summoned by the commissioner. Casey is testing Kidd and Otis’ driving skills. Kidd does well. Otis less so. Cruz needs advice on the woman so he goes to Brett. She has a strong reaction and he seems surprised.

Boden and Severide get downtown and find Grissom waiting outside the commissioner’s office. He’s pissed at Boden for dragging him into a mess. They go into the commissioner’s office and find out that it was the father of the girl they saved. He was just showing his appreciation. All cleared up. On the way out, Grissom is all smiles. Boden asks Severide if Grissom is up to something. He always is.

Casey has a decision on the driver. Before he can say it, Kidd pulls Otis aside. She’s willing to pull her name out of the running if he takes her chores. He agrees. Otis is the driver and Casey commends Kidd on a scheme well-played. Boden and Severide get back to the house. Boden gives the box of money to Connie for safekeeping and then tells Severide he bought the boat. Prom night. Casey arranged for Kidd to drive Bria and her date in 81. As they head off, Dawson tells Casey she wants to start trying again.

Grissom had a hand in sending the money right? And now Boden bought a boat and it will look fishy because of the cash. Is he clearing a path for Severide or is it something else? Dawson and Casey are gonna have a baby and now Brett will ping pong back to Cruz. Lame. Also lame? The whole “let’s have Casey pretend to use an Australian accent and then call it bad even though Jesse Spencer is Australian” bit.

Side note I am completely stoked that Sarah Shahi is coming back. I’m also excited for her new show. I will definitely be tuning in.

Quantico, episode one

Alex is picking grapes in Italy. She takes her treasures to a local market to trade before heading home as the sun sets. She waits on the porch before the lights to come before heading in. There’s a man in the kitchen cooking dinner and a little girl runs in to greet her. Alex got her a friendship bracelet at the market because they are best friends forever.

The man, Andre, wants to know why she works since they have enough money and she tells him that she likes the ritual of it. He points out that it’s different from her life back in New York as a lawyer. She agrees. The next day is the same thing. While picking grapes, she remembers Ryan. That night when she gets home the lights don’t come on. As they putter around the kitchen, Alex hears something.

She goes into agent mood, sending them upstairs and running outside to fight a bunch of men. She gets taken down but Andre comes to her rescue. Afterward, she sends them to his brother’s house. She has to find out who sent those men. She goes to Zurich for her safety deposit box and doesn’t get far before running into Ryan. He tells her the guys were sent by the same people that kidnapped Shelby.

They are holding her for ransom in exchange for information that Alex and Ryan have. It was in the safety deposit box last he saw it but Alex went and burned it after memorizing it. So now Ryan wants it. He’s the FBI and isn’t planning on involving anyone else. Alex is more interested in the ring he clearly just took off. He owns up to it. He’s married. To Shelby. Alex is pissed but willing to go with him.

Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Shelby is being held by some woman who tells her all about this mysterious code that Ryan has. He got it when he found her mole at the NSA years ago. Now she wants it. It can hack anything. Shelby is lead into another room and sees that Will is working for the woman. He tells them that Alex is in New York. The woman is happy to hear that.

Ryan and Alex meet with Owen. He tells them about a nefarious woman by the name of the Widow holding an auction for black market arms. He heads back to Quantico to recruit Jocelyn for the cause. She’s in because it’s the Widow. Ryan does not want her on the team because she’s deaf. His tune changes when he finds out that she was under with the Widow for 19 months and that’s when she lost her hearing. Speaking of, Widow sends a video of Shelby being tortured.

When Will sees it he tries to back out but Widow points out that he knew what he signed up for. The team analyzes the video and narrows down where Shelby could be but they need a backup plan. Enter Harry. He works for the Pillay brothers who are recently out of the arms business but made a tidy profit on it. Ryan wants him to use them to buy the code if he can’t save Shelby in time. Harry is not interested.

Alex and Ryan talk about their history and how Shelby is everything Alex could never be for Ryan. Harry’s boss is an asshole woman abuser so he’s in to help. Will decides to visit Shelby and she rips him apart. Ryan and Alex get back to their hideout to find Owen on the phone. It’s Will. He’ll tell them where Shelby is in exchange for immunity. As in a letter signed by a judge. Owen agrees. He goes to the meet with the others as backup.

Will gets the drop though. He gets the letter, drugs Owen and manages to lure the others out. Alex ends up on the run because she’s the one the Widow wants. She gets caught and ends up tied up in the room with Shelby. Harry talks to his boss and convinces him to go behind his brother’s back to enter the auction. Owen is back on his feet and helping Jocelyn and Ryan try and figure out where the others are being held. He figures out it’s a clothing factory.

Shelby and Alex snark at each other about Ryan until the Widow comes in. She calls Ryan and is ready to shoot Shelby if no one tells her the code. Alex breaks first and writes down the code. Will tries it out and it’s a dud. Widow and her lackeys storm back into the room ready to kill Shelby but before they can the power is cut. Ryan and Owen storm in and save the day. Harry is in the auction when it goes dark. His boss thinks he is stealing from him so Harry kills him.

Afterward, Owen tells them all that the Widow and her team are jailbond. Alex gets a full pardon from the president and the team, including Harry, is being recruited for black ops. While the others accept, Alex declines. She wants to go home. She flies back to Italy and sees Andre and his daughter. She realizes that she would be putting them in danger and changes her mind. She makes it back to New York in time to toast the new team.

I can get on board with Shelby and Ryan if I wasn’t convinced he will end up cheating with Alex. It’s inevitable and that’s messed up. Harry has always been my favorite part of this show so I’m glad he’s sticking around. With the smaller cast it could be good. It’ll be easier to keep track of at least, even if it does have more of a procedural feel.

The Americans, episode five

Stan has a tail as he first stops by a bakery and then heads to see the courier. They are getting relocated to Oklahoma and the wife is not happy about it. Stan tries to set her at ease. Elizabeth gets an update from Claudia about the players in the negotiation. She needs more information even if they can’t get it through Kimmy because of the Mexico thing. Their talk gets interrupted when Paige turns up.

She’s there for a history lesson. This time it’s WWII. Claudia lost most of her family there. Next on Stan’s tour is the husband courier. He still has a tail. This time it’s hockey, pizza and beer. Elizabeth gives Paige a ride home and her date with the Congressional intern comes up. Elizabeth tells her she shouldn’t be talking about that kind of stuff. Paige argues back but Elizabeth doesn’t budge.

It’s time for Stan to hit the road again. His tail stays on him. Elizabeth goes home to Philip and tells him about how Paige “got it” when they told her about the war. He’s going over the books but she has other things in mind. They have sex instead. The next morning he is in a good mood and Elizabeth tells him that things aren’t going well with the summit. She needs his help.

Basically she wants him to kidnap Kimmy and set her up to be caught with drugs in Soviet territory. She will go to the father and offer her freedom in exchange for information. Elizabeth thinks it’s foolproof but Philip doesn’t want to. She’s just a kid. Elizabeth won’t take no for an answer though. Elizabeth is on a recon mission of her own and Paige is at a bar with the intern.

Philip goes to Michigan to see Kimmy and get the ball rolling. She isn’t interested in meeting up overseas so he might have to resort to drastic measures. Elizabeth is following the male courier. She stops him for a light but before she can do anything more his handler shows up and whisks him away. Paige ends up knocking the intern and his buddy out at the bar because the buddy was being a drunk douche.

With no other options, Philip first compliments and then kisses Kimmy. She’s receptive. She leans back in and apparently invites him in. They have sex while Philip stares at the wall. Stan talks to Renee about her working at the Bureau. There are civilian jobs she would qualify for. Elizabeth is at her caretaker job. She hasn’t been doing her art homework so the woman is pissed at her.

She tells Elizabeth not to think, just to draw. Oleg runs into a former colleague. She doesn’t buy his cover and wants to know what he is doing in the States. He doesn’t budge and she goes off on him. Five years later she is lucky to have the same job because of what he did. He sold her out. Philip is a go for the Kimmy plan overseas. He will meet her in Greece and work from there.

Elizabeth is happy to hear that. Then Paige pulls up. She’s got a bruise on her eyebrow and she’s ready to spar. Tatiana reports back on Oleg. He is not loyal and he is not here for them. Paige is still riled up and she relents and tells her parents vaguely what happened. Elizabeth is pissed. She could have been found out. She can’t go to that bar ever again. Since Elizabeth keeps pushing, Paige snaps.

Paige tells Elizabeth that she isn’t her boss at all times and Paige can make decisions about who to sleep with on her own. Philip hears and gets involved. As Paige leaves, Philip follows Elizabeth upstairs for more information. She tells him about the intern and that Paige might not be cut out for this, like he said all along. Philip tells her that wasn’t his point.

It’s not that she can’t do it. It’s that she shouldn’t. Elizabeth grabs her stuff and heads out “to work.” She goes back to the husband courier’s place. She breaks in through the window but has to take cover once inside because the wife is there. She’s about to make a quick getaway when he comes into the room. She takes cover and then pounces, slitting his throat.

The wife comes in to check on him and sees her. She tries to run but Elizabeth grabs her and kills her too, in the hallway. As she is laying on top of the body she sees the TV, and the little kid in the living room. She backs away slowly. Paige is at home when a visitor shows up. It’s Philip. He tries to talk to her and she tells him that she isn’t like him. She knows that he isn’t into it.

He’s done pretending. He tells her to come at him and she brings up the lack of pads and everything. He’s sure he’ll be fine. Paige goes at him and he blocks her without breaking a sweat. He eventually pins her and seems to prove his point. He leaves without a word. Stan gets to the couriers’ place. He flashes his badge and is headed inside just as their kid is led away.

Paige goes to Claudia’s and asks what the plan is. They teach her how she is supposed to drink. First oil to coat her stomach and then they move on to see how much she can drink. Philip is at home doing work when there’s a knock on the door. It’s Stan. He needs to let off steam and talks about the couriers being murdered. He feels guilty. As he describes the scene, Philip seems very upset.

Meanwhile, Paige, Claudia and Elizabeth are drinking and talking about sex. Paige is shocked to find out that her mother was younger than she is when she started having sex. Philip calls Kimmy. He breaks up with her. He can’t meet her in Europe and moreover he warns her not to go to any communist countries while she is there. He is officially working against Elizabeth.

The ending! Philip is by far the best part of this show and I mean we always knew that but seriously. First he shows Paige that she doesn’t know anything and then he goes against orders to protect Kimmy. I loved it. I half expected him to adopt the couriers’ kid too. This was too much.

Good Girls, episode nine

Beth still wants to tell Rio about the gang member talking to the feds. Annie and Ruby point out that they are basically turning this guy over to die. If they do this, they can’t come back. Beth tells them that they won’t come back then. Ruby goes to work at the donut shop and gets a promotion to night shift. She gets other much bigger news though. Her daughter is at the top of the transplant list.

That’s great except it’s like $100K out-of-pocket. They don’t have that money. Dean goes into the bathroom and finds Annie there. She’s crashing with them until she feels better because of the Sadie situation. Dean wants her gone but she isn’t budging, at least not until Beth comes and tells her it’s time to roll out. Rio called. He needs them to pick up a truck. Beth tries to tell him about the snitch but Ruby cuts her off.

They go to look at the truck but know they will be pinched so they don’t go through with it. Instead, Beth suggests Ruby ask Stan if the cops have any leads on things. She doesn’t want to but she will. Annie is at work when the blackmailer turns up. She wants money or at least for Annie to pay for her groceries. With no other options, Annie does it. Boomer sees the whole thing. Ruby brings in some pot to celebrate with Stan. He takes some convincing but he’s game.

Dean presents Beth with a new hutch. He built it complete with a compartment for her hidden money. Annie sees the whole thing and gives her grief afterward for going soft on Dean. Ruby and Stan are stoned. She forgot what she was supposed to ask him though. She calls Annie for a reminder and then asks Stan about the kid they flipped. He sang like a bird apparently. Boomer talks to the security guard about the blackmailer.

Ruby tells the others Stan isn’t onto the truck. They can go ahead with the truck. They rent two matching trucks as decoys but Beth, with the real truck, gets pulled over. She tells the others to help Dean with the kids and stops the truck. Boomer befriends the blackmailer. Beth meets with Rio. She talked her way out of trouble and now she’s pissed at him. She throws the keys at him and he tells her they are done.

She was only the bait for the cops because he had a kid that might’ve talked. Had. Past tense. Beth reads between the lines and knows that Rio is coming for them next. She goes to Ruby’s and talks to her and Annie about it. They don’t know what to do now. Boomer goes home with the blackmailer. After moping at Ruby’s, Beth goes home and drinks and fills out the calendar for the rest of the month for the kids.

Annie calls Sadie from the car outside Gregg’s house. She leaves a message telling her she loves her. Actually, she leaves like 11 according to Gregg who comes out and talks to her. He wants to know what’s up. Annie doesn’t tell him. Ruby and Stan are in bed. She wants to know what it would take for him to leave her. They get interrupted by a phone call. It’s the hospital. There’s a kidney match.

Beth, Ruby and Annie are talking the next day. They couldn’t sleep. They don’t know what to do. Annie wants to turn herself in until Beth has a realization. They are the good guys. Rio is the criminal that should be in jail. They are going to put him there.

I don’t like this show. Whenever it starts to redeem itself, it takes a turn and I hate it again. Especially the blackmail lady. I don’t like her at all.

Chicago Med, episode seventeen

Choi is cranky because Emily borrowed his car and isn’t back yet. He needs to leave. April tells him to relax. Bob is in a bad way. He can tell because of Rhodes’ face. After the examination, Rhodes tells Reese that it might be time to say her goodbyes. Choi is checking on the homeless kids camp. He is running a blood test when Emily shows up. She introduces herself to the kid he is looking at. Choi thinks the kid has signs of leukemia and Emily convinces him to come to the hospital.

Maggie calls Manning on her avoidance of Halstead. She denies it and that’s when Maggie sends a patient to Halstead and Manning. A little boy with abdominal pain. When the parents explain his medical history, Halstead gets angry. He and Manning head out. He thinks that the fact that the parents couldn’t accept a psychological condition and shopped around for a physical one has led to his current situation.

Rhodes sees that someone got flowers. They were for Bekker from his father. He isn’t happy to hear it. Noah gets a patient. An older man with dementia. His daughter is with him and has a lot of questions. Charles goes to visit Bob. It’s not a friendly visit though. Bob sees Charles as the bad guy for forcing him to cut Reese out of his life. Bekker meets with Rhodes’ dad and uncomfortably turns him down but thanks him for donating to the hospital.

A gunshot patient comes in. Rhodes barely has time to hear what happened before the guy shows signs of being brain dead. He’s a donor though so Rhodes has him rushed upstairs to get his heart for Bob. Noah’s dementia patient shows that he has ODed on opioids. His daughter doesn’t believe it though so Noah agrees to run the test again if he can administer NARCAN. It’s a deal.

Manning and Halstead present their results to the kid’s parents. They spoke to their specialist and want to bring the kid to see him instead. Halstead is more concerned with the infection but the father won’t hear it. The tics look bad and other kids have started to notice. That’s the priority. Manning agrees to go with the other doctor’s plan. Halstead tries to fight her on it and she tells him that she is going to go with a placebo to keep the kid.

Choi has the kid at the hospital. He has cancer so Choi needs to call his parents but the kid won’t give him the contact information. Choi consults with Charles about what to do. Noah gets the second round of tests back and it still shows opioids. He explains as much to the daughter as April checks the man’s belongings. She finds a white powder that might be fentanyl. They have to scrub the area and quarantine the man now.

The kid is getting worse and Manning is still going along with the parents and their quack specialist. Halstead has had enough. He snaps at her about living up to her superior opinions and decision making. Rhodes takes another shot at Bekker for her “active social life” because he thinks that she is with his father. Choi fights with Emily about how to treat his kid. Reese finds the dementia patient’s daughter crying. Manning talks to the kid’s mother in the bathroom. The mother doesn’t want to hear her.

She lends an ear as the woman unloads about her father’s condition. Charles talks to Choi about the kid and his reluctance to contact his parents. Rhodes repairs the heart. It’s ready for Bob. He also keeps needling at Bekker. The board vetoes Goodwin’s bypass call. She tells Maggie to go ahead with it. Choi has found the kid’s parents and brought them in but the kid has pulled a runner.

Goodwin tells the board that it is financially responsible. Her liaison follows her out and tells her that if she keeps going after the board they will fire her. Reese goes to see her father. He is antagonistic and downright mean. Rhodes overhears the whole thing and as Reese leaves, he tells her that he is about to do the transplant. Noah’s patient crashes and he tries to revive him but it is too late.

Halstead and Manning have to do the surgery now. They keep pushing and the father keeps talking about the specialist. The mother snaps and tells him that the specialist is a quack and the kid’s condition is genetic. He’ll get surgery. Choi finds the kid and Emily at the homeless camp. He lets him bring his dog if he comes back. Bob is running warm so Rhodes can’t do the surgery. Reese tells him that’s normal for her father so the surgery is a go.

It’s a success. Afterward, Rhodes admits that he doesn’t like the idea of Bekker dating anyone. She tells him that she likes that he was upset. Choi gets back to the hospital with the kid. He’s going to go home with his parents if he can bring his dog. They agree to the terms. Halstead tells the parents the kid is getting better. He steps outside and Manning apologizes for pushing too far but he still doesn’t get a pass. Reese’s father will recover.

I don’t care at all about Manning and Halstead. This whole back and forth thing with them is unnecessary. They will end up back together in the finale. I also don’t understand this whole dynamic with Choi and his sister. They need to explain that better. The mystery is obnoxious not intriguing. I feel bad for Reese with this whole thing.

Supergirl, episode fifteen

Kara and plywood are studying footage of Reign fighting, looking for weaknesses. They find that when she goes high that is the window. Winn comes in to announce that he fixed Mon-El’s old suit. J’onn goes home to check on his father. He’s worried now. Lena tells Sam that she is Reign but that it’s a matter of being a split personality. Her DNA re-writes itself.

Sam doesn’t want to believe it though. She figures that she signed up for this because she asked a Luthor. She gets called upstairs and finds James there. He wants to talk but she tells him she’s dealing with an emergency. Then they talk about staging an intervention. J’onn gets back to work with his dad. He suggests letting Alex run some tests but his father needs to pray.

While he does that, Winn and another tech get testy with one another. Kara also seems agitated as she trains with plywood. Winn and the other guy throw punches and when Winn is pinned he pulls a gun. Kara hears the commotion and runs out. The other guy swats the gun away and that’s when Alex comes in. She takes out the other guy and then yells at Winn and he swings at her.

Alex takes down Winn and Kara comes running in and pulls her off him. J’onn comes in and puts a mental block on. Alex apologizes to the guys and then points out that their behavior was just like one of the aliens they have locked up who raged at the bar. She and Kara go to check on her and along the way talk about the unresolved issues between Kara and plywood. J’onn knows it was his father who messed with that alien.

Lena and Sam are still arguing about why she is being kept in a cage. Lena pushes until Sam snaps. She uses her heat vision and then transports first to the field from Kara’s dreams at the beginning of the season and then to a dark forest. J’onn tells Kara and Alex about what happened and what he’s trying to do with his father. Alex tells him that it’s time to step up and tell him what’s what. Lena shows Sam footage of her breakdown.

Plywood wants to talk about Kara’s pent up aggression toward him. She wants to train and fight. J’onn goes to talk to his father. It doesn’t go well. Kara snaps at Mon-El for being a jackass during their relationship until Alex gives her a dampener. Also, all of the cell doors open. The DEO is total mayhem. Everyone is fighting each other and the escaped prisoners. Kara practices her cape tricks though.

J’onn tries to plead with his father. It’s working until a white Martian shows up. J’onn has to fight it. He wins and then helps his father. It stops the chaos at the DEO but brings them both to tears. Sam calls Ruby to tell her she won’t be home for a while. She doesn’t want to know where Ruby will be until she’s better. M’yrrn apologizes to everyone at the DEO. Lena goes to her office and finds James.

He brought her dinner and intends to head out but she invites him to stay. She thinks they have a good thing going but will have to keep secrets. He’s okay with that. Kara talks to plywood about raging at him. Then they head out to do the hero thing and find dead birds. It’s the last of Reign’s buddies.

So this whole episode seemed like a way to showcase that plywood is new and reformed but that seems like a crock of shit to me. I don’t understand why Supergirl’s married ex-boyfriend is so important to the show. He’s not. I also feel bad for Winn because he just got walloped first by random dude and then by Alex. Also, pushing the James/Lena thing is nonsense. They don’t fit together and scuttlebutt is he’s leaving at the end of the season anyway.

iZombie, episode eight

Liv and Peyton are tiptoeing around each other the next morning. Peyton vents about Major and what happened at Fillmore Graves. She can’t believe he lied like that. Liv asks her not to tell him about what she’s up to. Peyton won’t. She also wants in and Liv is not interested in putting her in danger. Peyton pushes and Liv tells her they need money before heading to work.

Peyton goes to see a prisoner that might know the whereabouts of a stash of cash. The victim is in medieval armor. He was a LARPer and now Liv is on the brain. She’s got an accent and talks like she is on a quest. They go to find the victim’s LARP group. They tell Clive and Liv that the victim left the group because he was a zombie. Clive tells them he was not. They leave with no real answers.

Blaine and Angus eat dinner together with the latter’s followers. Angus asks for more brains and Blaine wants to sleep on it. Ravi is doing the autopsy when Liv gets a call. It’s the next smuggled girl. She’s just anxious. Her coyote shows up. All is well. As Liv walks back to Ravi, Clive comes in with a lead on the zombie LARPers. They are going to see them that night. Major is at Blaine’s bar with the soldier that Graves told him to buddy up to.

Turns out the zombie LARP is more of a fight club. Also in attendance are Major and his buddy. Clive and Liv talk to the guy that’s running the show. He’s got a thunder dome running for money separate from the LARP. He tells them where to track down the other group. Clive gets a text from Dale. She’s out sleeping with someone else. The next morning he is mopey about it.

Donnie and Blaine are trying to figure out brains for the bar and security when a buddy turns up. He wants the prisoner that Peyton made a deal with because he wants the cash too. He expects Blaine to take out the whole transport. He doesn’t have the manpower for that… but Angus does. They go to him and offer him the brains as a solution.

Liv goes and changes the smuggled humans. The one she talked to isn’t there yet. Major tries to make plans with the other guy, Russ. He wants to know why Major talked to the cop, meaning Liv but Major plays dumb so Russ is willing to let him go earn some extra cash. The job is destroying a brain packaging operation. Clive and Liv go to see the LARP zombies.

They thought the victim was a zombie and by the time they realized he was human and the blow was fatal, it was too late. Clive tells them all they need to come down to the station. Angus’ followers stop the transport bus. They attack it. Two of the zombies bring the prisoner that Peyton talked to over to Blaine and his buddy. He tells them what he wants to know but it’s not enough.

Blaine is going to eat his brain to see what’s up. Liv tells Ravi to be chivalrous for Peyton. He does and when he’s in the armor it triggers a vision. It wasn’t an accident. They know who the killer is. One of the zombie LARPers killed the human for sleeping with his human wife. Blaine and his buddy go to get the money but it’s gone.

Peyton beat them to it. She goes with Liv to present it to Levon and the rest of the smuggling crowd. While they are there, the third smuggled human shows up. Liv tries to turn her by scratching on arm but it doesn’t work. She tries the other arm but still nothing. They don’t know what to do and the girl, Isobel, knows she’s going to die.

Why didn’t Major just say that Liv was his ex? That would have worked. Also I know he’s undercover but he’s really going full tilt with this guy. I really feel bad for Clive here and also totally love Peyton and Ravi together. Isobel will probably be back right? They wouldn’t just leave it like that.
